2010 Illinois Recycling Association (IRA) Scholarship Program

The Illinois Recycling Association (IRA) will provide a scholarship to students enrolled in Sustainability, Environmental Science or related studies. The downloadable PDF (click here) outlines the qualifications for submitting an application for the Illinois Recycling Association (IRA) Scholarship. This year's scholarship is $1,500.00.

It is requested that this notice be circulated among students interested in applying. Applications are to be received electronically no later than March 31, 2010. An application consists of a letter to the Association and submission of the requested information outlined below. Applicants will be rated equally on the following four items:

(1) Their letter to the Committee,
(2) How their curriculum relates to the Sustainability/Science/environmental field, (3) Their grade point average (in applicable classes and overall),
(4) Their involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Students eligible to be considered must have graduated from an Illinois high school or be a resident of Illinois. The Illinois Recycling Association (IRA) Awards Committee will consider the application and select one student to be awarded the scholarship.
